Sackler Greenhouse
Santa Fe, New Mexico
2002

Located upon the footprint of a former
greenhouse, this incarnation sits between a Pueblo Spanish style adobe garage and a brilliant International style residence in Santa
Fe’s historic district.

The greenhouse has a rough-cut moss rock base supporting vertical and sloping south-facing glass. The interior concrete slab and walls provide passive solar heat storage to
supplement the radiant heating. Interior framing and trim is western red cedar suitable for the humid conditions. Lighting, ventilating and misting systems are appropriately simple for this working environment.
